I just don't want to let it get out of control. It's 2" from screen, do I keep vegg'ing until the branching is in the screen? I'm just trying to anticipate the stretch... So..... Do I flip now, and tuck and weave the 1st 2 weeks of flower, or veg it for another week?

I now they say 65% of screen, then flip, but I can just see this filling 90% of the screen in 9 days flower.. LOL

Sorry picture is shotty, hard to get goo pic in short room.

I weave during veg and trim everything under the screen before I flower. I try to get the screen over half full. I aim to start at the corners and work in, if this makes sense; sometimes that just doesn't work out. I wouldn't flip now, not yet.

good luck; nice looking setup :)

my :2cents: is that, like anything else, experience is key. It's gonna take a couple scrogs before you know what to expect.

fwiw, I started growing with scrog, then abandoned it only to go back to it years later. It was like starting over d/t the fact that it was a different location, different genetics, ect...only you catch on a bit faster because you know to recognize the "cues" ;)

the pay off is doing as B suggested.

    veg through the screen.

    trim all below the screen.

let plant recover, then flip to 12/12

there won't be as much stretch as you think, all that horizontal growth beforehand has its porpoise :p

Ok.... next question. I used 1" chicken wire, cuz its what I had on hand.. I know it can be a PITA, but, how the hell does the main branches get through the holes? I mean the leaves are so big at the end of the shoots no way they can get through those holes.....?

you can guide them through the holes like threading a needle

or get green Tenax home fencing with bigger two inch openings that is plastic and also won't cut your arms to pieces.

the 2' x 25' fencing is cheaper, must be out of stock. you can get it at most large hardware stores and online

For sure next time I will use something like that. But for now I stuck with what I got, lol. I will start threading... Thanks

If you are careful you can train the stems and branches to run on top of or below the screen, and loosely tie them down (because those stems will get lots bigger) somehow.
