I've looked and can't seem to find the answer so does anyone know if a clone can be cloned? Or do they need to be taken from a mother grown from seed?

Sorry posted in wrong place thought I was still in cloning section and I can't delete it.
Thanks for the move in advance:doh:

Certainly, clones can be cloned. Just make sure to take cuttings of the best shoots. There's talk of genetic drift, and/or senescence over time, but it seems there are plenty of people that replicate clones for many years w/o perceived problems.

The answer is yes, for best results veg them a while until you have good healthy growing tips to cut for your clones.

In other words don't try to clone a 6 inch clone.... :2cents:

the strain I grow has only existed in clone form for over 23 years. so yes, you can clone clones. its the only way some genetics stay around. the genetics usually over time do degrade slightly, and usually I have heard its either the taste or the yield that are affected by too much cloning. my trainwreck for example used to be a moderate yielder about ten years ago, but now is a very light yielder. but the potentcy and taste are all still there. so thats how being cloned for 23 years has affected the trainwreck genetics ( plus somewhere down the latter, someone didnt have a light proof room to flower in, and it started out turning slightly hermie, thus why any real Arcata trainwreck is slight hermie). well hope this helps.
