    Topping a plant lets the plant grow two main tops (the first time). This is good for the grower becuase the more you top the more branching you will have. This causes the plant to be more bushy, not really tall. I've topped mine 3 times, and I am growing outdoors. My one plant has been flowering for about a week or so and is 3' tall and has about 6-8 top growths on it, it looks really nice....
