doc put me on aderall

    heya greenthumbkin,

    so i went to the docs about a month ago..they put me on a low dose? of aderall(amphetamine salts 5mg. twice a day..

    so i was wondering if anyone out there has had experince with this medication? prefeably ones who have been prescribed it...withdraws,side effects and so on.

    i looked on web md, but thats a bunch of mambah jambah,was hopin for first hand experinces from katz that are more like minded..

    any input would be friggin awesome..

    It fuckin kills your appetite like crazy, I lost like 20lbs; down from 160 (I'm 6ft). You won't even THINK about eating. I fuckin quit that shit. You'll def notice your heart rate go up. It is literally SPEED dude. You'll def notice a "high" as well and they are definitely ADDICTIVE. You can easily get rid of them if you live near any college campus. I suggest you do so, or not fill the script at all.

    That stuff messed me up bad.

    I couldn't sleep, didn't even think about eating, and made me feel all around geeked out. ............Felt kinda like I was on meth...............

    So I talked to the doc and what does he do? Up the flippin dose to the highest one and prescribe me a sleeping pill! Let me tell you how much better that was! (catch the sarcasm?)

    Went back and talked to him again and he put me on Vivance. Did the exact same thing only time release so it was one pill a day.

    I know people who love the stuff, but for me it was a big negative and the doctor is/was/and always will be a quack in my book. IMO that stuff should be off the market, but some people swear by it.... I dunno....

    I found other ways to deal with it: an hour of exersise a day (in particular weight lifting, running doesn't help too much for me for some reason) and a healthier diet actually cleared up most my attention problems. Not saying it would work like that for everyone but thats my experiance with ADD and aderall.

    I use it prn. typically during finals. Helps me focus. Nothing that a little Satori can't fix in lieu of adderall.

    I was prescribed it but stopped taking it, along with most of my other meds. Nothing a little diet and exercise can't change. That's my experience; what works for me.

    The worst side effect for me was the heart palpitations. At a lower dose, it can be subdued to some degree.

    I would ask to get another med. It's pretty hard to get adderall prescribed. I'm surprised you got it. It took me a year and a half to get my doc to give it to me. The only reason why I wanted it was due to everyone around me telling me that is was the cat's ass for studying :lol:

    If you take it as prescribed and have a legitimate reason for its use, it may just make you feel "normal", if there is a "normal" :p

    ss that was one of my concerns...ive been of the shards for what almost 9 years now i think..
    and can definately See the abusin it plus and minus...thing iz i dont have a.d.d... i have social panic disorder,bad panic attacks when negitive energy iz overwelling,and just cant handle puplic places..had me and still do have me on benzos as well,(colitpine)which i cant kick,ive tryed hardcore,but 23 daze in the back room in a fetal postion,going thru a painic/anxiety attack every ten minutes, doesnt really help the phamily ,ya know...so bacicly they have me speed ballin..just too stay balanced out...:wtf:

    i did ask one supposive specialist who was a supposive(Buddist), in medz if he can get me off the benzos,and he pretty much said im fucked at this point...im thinkin in the back of my mind about Buddha:lol:

    well told him he isnt the right doctor for me..
    those benzos are horrible..


    kinda funny, i really dont have problems going to sleep with my son around noon and am in bed by 12..have a 2 1/2 year old and newborn.so get pretty worn along with the garden..

    as for eating well i smoke alot:bong2: :lol:... but the thing iz i hear and feel where your both comming from..im rembering shite again,gettin shite accomplished around the land and house,more focused of course..but iz this the addict romancing the drug or the drug actully working..

    but sence this last month,ive actully made it into friggin wolly world,by myself 4 times in like 8 years(i huge deal to me though it may sound minor),so i tested further and hit up a celtic festie,same thing man, no anxiety..my main goal.Possible festies next spring?

    loved it at the time of course.. but honestly i never really felt so balanced out sence back then.Social wise,crowd wise,or friendship wise.

    no doute they are gonna up the dose...i just dont know man..the shits workin.and i aint shootin it or snortin it yet:lol:

    i dunno phamily...kinda at a loss here,stop the aderall be a lazy forgetful stump, or keep on keepin on???

    would love to hear some more feed back,thanks phamily,you wordz speak a screamin whispering Truth.

    don't stop taking the med. talk to your doc and taper off.

    I know what you mean about not being able to go into walmart (or any other public place). I feel your pain. Been there, done that.

    I know I'll be chastised for this, but, the MJ could be playing a hand in this too IMO. I'm saying this cause it does for me.

    I can't remember the drug I was prescribed that helped me get over my fears/anxiety. It was the only one. I'll have to find it for you and reply back. A lot of it for me was mental; putting myself out there. facing it.

    best of luck bro. You need to do what's best for you and the family :2cents: & if it's pharmacotherapy, so be it. However, I think that adderall is not the best drug for SPD

    Stop eating sugar, gluten, and any other processed foods and report back :D

    I've taken adderall before, its nothing short of prescription methamphetamine. Something cokeheads snort when they cant get their hands on any coke. One heavy night of its use took a serious toll on my system I cant imagine taking it regularly, even in smaller increments. It's drug induced state put me something near a clear headed cocaine laced meth trip.
