Earth Juice ph

I just made my first bloom/catalyst combo in water for the start of flowering the ph of water before i added the ferts was 6.9 too high and when I added the fert it jumped down to 4.2 I had to add the general hydroponic ph up and I got it at 6.5 I was wondering how bad is the general hydroponic ph up for the plants and where can I get a all natural ph up for cheap.

earth juice makes some organic ph adjuster, but its pretty unstable, mostly citric acid. GH up wont cause any problems but its technically not organic..

I got the earth juice pH up the ppm's skyrocketed from 034 to 884 and only added 1/2 tsp. what should I do?

use the GH instead

Anyone wants to start a "I hate EJ" thread, I'm in. Before I get jumped on, maybe it was my lack of experience, but why anyone would make fertilizer that would etch glass is beyond me. Got a bunch on my shelf if anyone wants it.

Although it isn't certified organic, GH pH up contains potassium bicarbonate and potassium silicate, both of which have been approved by US NOSB for organic agriclture.

EJ rocks, im going to go ahead and say that it's inexperaince in this situation.

Greenfire is my regular hydroshop. They are one of the two outlets for EJ that are owned by those that make the stuff.

Why are you ph'ing biofeed? I may be talking out of my ass here so ill try to explain it in some detail.

I use a R.O. machine. IT's bring the water here to 10ppm and 7.0 ph. I asked the peeps over at greenfire about what i should do with the fluctuations with the EJ products. Now, this is for soil feeding so take it for such, but he said don't PH! The acid appearntly kills of some of the microb's found in the catalyst portion of your mix.

I will try and get them to clarify for me when i got back there next and report into you guys.

I would love to not pH my water all the time so can someone direct me to a post of soil buffering or peoples soil mixes and what they added to keep there soil at a steady pH. Or can someone please fill me in on what needs to go in the soil to make it stable throughout the grow without pH'ing water every other day

We have a section in the library on Soil pH, and a big thread on Soil mixes that people are using.

Dolomitic limestone or wood ash are commonly used organic ways to increase soil buffering capacity.

It would never occur to me to worry about whether or not my pH up/down was organic.

Then again, it'd never occur to me to worry about organics in a hydroponic system, either.
