those white bugs are a good thing if they're what i think your talkin about...

they eat up fungus and mold spores that are starting to germinate... and yes they are prolly dead if you've added nutes... they dont like bunches of salts....

most bags of soil will have these slender white bugs... and most microscopic white bugs aid in nitrogen fixing... unless of course they could be mites (small, round, shiny, slow, ball shaped bugs) and mites are never a good thing..

but i have had many FFOF and those white bugs have never effected anything for me :2cents:

I stick clones in a Solo cup full of FFOF.

I can tell they've rooted when the leaf tips burn.

    Good midday,

I've been using Fox Farms Light Warrior agroponic potting soil for this very reason !!!

As well as having never been able to keep a clone or seedling within a 16oz Solo cup longer then two or three weeks using "OF" and while replacing this soil for "LW" allows plants to remain in a Solo well beyond 4 weeks if needed.

Once the clones / seedling's have grown a bit they're transplanted from Solo to 1 gal grow bags for upwards of a month to veg, at which point there tp'd again into there final container, 3 gal grow bags prior to flowering.

    Have a Great day

Eh, the burn is so minor, I don't really care.

But I've taken so many clones lately I'd like to keep them in Solo cups longer.

FWIW I've been using Light Warrior, too (when I have it around). I also clone in FFOF but feel LW is a better choice. This last round, I put an inch of OF on the bottom and the rest LW, the theory being that the roots will find a little food just around the time they need it. Either a growth burst of green or burned leaves will let me know when the roots have reached the bottom :)

In my experience, both products work very well - although FFOF has been fine for all tasks from germinating to cloning to growth through harvest.

    mix um

i love both products out of the bag . i also love mixing them together in my planter box . the promix is a lot cheaper per cu ft where i live and doesn't have a lot of nutes in it so if u want to experiment with adding ur own its good .. i like mixing the two together to get the best of both worlds .. i love that dark richness in the ocean forest bag and that clean fresh pro mix .. maybe add some worm castings to ur promix and some more perlite and ur set .
i 'd like to see promix mixed with ff marine cuisine compared to ffof in a side by side ...

I have been useing roots organic and am really really happy with it. I did try some fox farms this time when I mixed my supersoil....just to mix with the roots organic. Big mistake as there was fucn knats galore in that shit. Never had them with roots so its back to my roots for me ;):2cents:

You can get gnats in a bag of Roots, too. Ask me why I know this...

It all depends on where the bags were stored. I read that the distributer stored his stuff near a land fill. I think that was on subcools video on youtube where he was introducing predatory nematoads into his soil storage bin. All I know is I got 3 bags of roots organic and one foxfarm and had gnats in the fox farms. Im sure not all fox farms soil has them...but I like the roots and will stay with them ;)
