i'm sure it will take you a while to get things in order. here are some pointers that don't concern the current slowness, et c. -

1) DO NOT "sell" us. don't tell us something is amazing. show us, by making it good. using that kind of language is discouraging. i appreciate it's ahrd not to when addressing a wide audience.

2) please keep impartiality towards seed bank information. this will attract the most users if they know information isn't being biased.

3) the current site design is way amateurish. i logged a *lot* of forum use time, and GC was about the best online.

the site was clean and functional. text was high contrast. webpages didn't contain mroe than they had to (eg. background images! which look really cheesy and detract from loading time).

the old site was designed by a master. learn from that design.. please don't "wash out" the text colour or background colour to make it look smooth. if you didn't buy their forum scripts, use phpbb, it's much more functional than this (and doesn't take 60 seconds to post).
apart from that, good luck to you, i hope this place continues to be as *honest,* straightforward and friendly as GC was. that's the strength it always had over the competition, and why the GC community consisted of mature forum members who didn't play out their agendas, but realised that there was room for everyone to benefit.

So, you saying .. the owners of GC sold the forum to somebody in Amsterdam?

What happened to all the past postings on GC ie: old photos, have members photo's been deleted when the forum moved? If not, i'll be removing any images I may find here on this site that I originally posted on GC.

I don't think I want my username being associated with a site that reads "buy marijuana seeds" .com Thats not where I wanna log into when I come to read about growing pot. The Gardens Cure could've meant anything.

I'll check back but in the next couple of weeks but, theres a good chance i'll be moving somewhere else.

I will second CamperDon in the sense I do not want my name being affiliated with a site named "buymarijuanaseeds.com".

I think the name itself steers away from the point why a lot of us are here and a lot will be turned off that come here to join in the near or long future. In all honesty I could care less 12k + seed names & prices, and am more interested who is viewing a thread at the same time I am which there is now no feature of. I loved that feature.

I think the new owners will find their new found hype to be disappointing if nothing is soon to change.

This is nothing other than a dissaster if the "oldboys" are moving away, give us newbes a hint on where your going guys if so, i cant see how im gona get thru the days without reading your posts.

I am willing to bet this is sort of an extended shakedown period and obviously they will have to ramp up the servers performance if they want to keep traffic to the forum. early this morning when it was only about 30 users online it was about as fast (perhaps faster then old gc.com) now I cant wait till we see some peak use roll through I think we had times when there were over 1000 concurrent connections to gc.com.

As to old-faces bailing ship it isn't to hard to track down growers there are only about a dozen and a half active weed forums out in cyberspace, And many use similar or identical handles between them all as well. At least most do.

Really though I want to reserve judgement until at least the next full moon....

true, if you bought it, you may want to consider keeping the name "garden's cure," because this is where our heads are at -

money ("buy") and wealth ("mine") are inconsequential, if not antithesis to one who is concerned with wellbeing.

if this place falls apart, i'll probably pick up at rollitup. very british but always seemed a friendlier place than some others.

Wow, trying really hard to... adjust... to the new site. So far, not a fan. Most of my concerns mirror those already mentioned by others. If you have to tell us it's "better" than the old site, it isn't, or we would have seen that and this would have been a smooth transition.

Totally agree about the url. If you bought GC, you should probabaly use it. buymarijuanaseeds.com sounds like a popup url, seriously.

I know personally, the site has locked up so many times & taken so long to load things that I'm just going to lurk for a bit and see how things go. Very sad to see some old friends jump ship. Hopefully you won't lose too many but honestly, right now this seems like the death of GC.

I'm colorblind, are there other color options? I can't barely read the forum now.

also why is half the screen wasted? can you move the user information ont he right to the top of the screen so the whole area can be used for forum access?

why get rid of vbulletin?
