HELP, 1 FLOWER BUD HAD 15 SEEDS FROM FEM PLANT.

I just harvested my final Pineapple Chunk 2 days ago, and after the hang time in the closet I was doing final trim and placing in brown paper bag. I had pulled 3-4 buds earlier in the week for testing, and wished I would come across just 1 seed because I didn't take any clones. Anyway, smoke turned out to be the BOMB, some of the best I have ever smoked and I'm in my 50's. So, as I used my magnifying glass to just check everything out, I found 1 bud that had about 15 what appears to be mature seeds. No other flowers/buds had any seeds at all, just that 1 bud. Surprised me entire plant did not Hermie, just 1 flower. I did keep them for future grow since they came from female seeds, so they should be predisposed to being female. Just how strange is it to get just 1 Bud with seed? Please don't tell me to just grow them and go on, as I am not a total noob, just wondering about only 1 bud having seed. Thanks in advance, all input greatly appreciated.

Thats truly incredible crash. Theres so many questions...where did the pollen come from...and how did it not spread to other buds. Maybe it was just a freak kind of accident with the genetics and only one bud happened to hermie but everything else didnt. Incredible.

Hey LFM,Yea, thats what blew me away. Not only was it a BRAND NEW Tent, before use, I wiped it completely down with warm soapy water, then rinsed. My grow was on 4 plants, 2 Barneys Pineapple Chunk, and 2 Barneys , Orange Bud. Fox Farm soil and nutes. 600w MH and 600w HPS, no stress to plants at all. Tent is 7 ft tall so plants can grow and plump up nicely. And just 1 bud contained hidden seed. Trust me, I take good care of my girls and they are watched every single day, notes made in journals I keep on every grow, and all I could think was, DAMN wish I could get lucky and find just one seed so I could grow her out and turn her into a Mother. That is how GREAT this Pineapple is, I didn't want to lay out the extra cash for 5 more, then up jumped the Devil with 15 nice brown/stripped mature looking seed. I can't figure it out, so after my present grow of Train Wreck, Sour Kush, Big Bud, and Kandy Kush X Skunk#1, a total of 8 plants in germ state now, 8 Pineapple Chunk will be germed and grown. Female seed breeds female seed correct? Maybe I'll shoot Barney's an email. If you have never tried Pineapple Chunk, you need to. Grows strong, descent yield, the high starts after 2 hits and then really cranks up, great Indica brand. Great for pain, Some of the best. But will keep you posted if I hear from Barney's. Were they dud seeds though? Did you press them firmly to see if they crack? Still blows my mind 24 hours later lol.

First thing I did was to roll them back and forth between fingers and then just a small pinch , but they felt ready to go. Maybe I will start 2 and just use my CFL"S and see what happens.

I donno what to add other than whats up for me now.

I had some auto flowers up stream from my C99 (its not a fem plant but still it has not shown hermie signs) and I left at least one of the males upstream (on purpose) from her & she has clearly gotten pollen. I am ok with it, but the thing is that I dont see any signs of seeds on my other 2 girls. I may not see the seeds just because they are small and I am not spread'n buds or closely inspecting them, but they were only a few feet away (but they were upwind from my fans).

Its just my opinion & preference, but I shy away from fem seeds when I can cuz I dont want to have to inspect closely for anything but bugs. Just a couple sacks from a hermie can do wonders.

Just for quick update. 3 days ago I started a new grow from seeds mentioned above, and this morning I had 5 of 8 girls pop up, including a Pineapple Chunk, of which I only had room for 1 bean. I can only grow 8 girls at a time in short 5 gal buckets. but 2 Train Wreck, 1 Big Bud, 1 Kandy Kush, and the Pineapple Chunk. Have you ever tried Pineapple Chunk, some of the best tasting highest stone out there and now 1 for every grow, yield was fair, 2 zips dry off of 600w MH/HPS and soil grow

Female genetics when morphed will produce female only pollen since no male genetics are present. The end result is feminized offspring. In my experience, when only one bud contains seed, an adjacent bud must've morphed which could've been due to many reasons. IE: light leaks, any type of stress, be it enviromental or just born in the plant to do so.

The problem is the offspring will have a higher precentage of hermaphrodism during its flowering session. The upside of course is you have future seed stock to add to the collective. Although I do not condone this practice of seed making, I have pulled off my own seed making adventure non intentionally, through accidental light leakage during the early days of flowering.

Plants pollenate early in flower (which is why males always seem to be well developed long before the female) giving the appropriate amount of time thats needed to for the seed to mature. 6 - 8 weeks is needed to produce viable seed.

liked the chunk myself. my freebie seed didn't get pollenated and didn't make it through the reveg attempt. i'm tempted to put new PC seeds on my dream purchases list. good all arounder.
