Yesterday i supercropped my plants for the first time..i just squeezed in the middle of the branches..not too hard..but enough to give the branches a little limp but not so hard that it cant repair itself. Im looking at my plants today and it looks like they have healed great in the areas where i did it...is this something id be able to do once daily? I definitely want to get those fat nugs out of this super lemon haze!!! Thanks!!!

    Good morning,

I believe you can do it as often as you see branches growing taller. Supercropping is like LST training except that your actually braking the fibers in the stem that support the branch in it's upright fashon. Gently rubbing the stem between the thumb and forefinger to soften those fibers so the branch actually brakes sort of to better lay on its side.

Your done when the canopy has been sculpted the way you want it, again much like LST training.

Have a Great day and good luck with your grow

Don..i thought the only point of supercropping was to break the stem a little bit..so when it heals it becomes stronger and thicker..therefore giving you bigger buds. I thought LST'ing specifically was just a way to expose lower branches that are often covered up by fan leaves.

Yep, your right but, Supercropping isn't just a one time thing.. It can be done to the same plant many times the same way LST can be done multiple times. So, your going for the strengthen the framework in anticipation of enormous bud. Good outlook and that probably helps a great deal but, not why I thought Supercropping was practiced.

Yes LST is to even the canopy allowing more light to the lower portions that usually fight to see any, again depending on strain.. My understanding of Supercropping is to train the plant to grow a different direction thereby controlling the height.

Both instances give the end product more buds not necessarily bigger ones although with the right genetics and lighting it is possible within both disciplines.

Your braking of the stem, I don't believe equals larger buds rather another way of controlling height and directional growth.
I might be wrong though as I haven't dabbled much in Supercropping but, I have played extensively with LST trainning, my avatar for instance, was a 2010 Blueberry in a 2 gal being trained that later (i'm still looking for the photos on disc) became a Babe in Bondage or "BB Gone Wild" which was her particular designation at the time.

No big buds on that one at harvest but rather hundreds of smaller ones.

Well, I agree with you and only add that SC can be done more than once so don't limit yourself. But do keep in mind the space you have for growth.

    Have a Great night

Ive heard people claim that supercropping will give bigger nugs, but I dont see why it would, and have not personally noticed a difference. Really the only way to get bigger nugs is more light, assuming all else is equal. Some people claim it makes the stem stronger and therefore it can transport more stuff to the nugs, but in that case you would need to supercrop the entire stem starting at the roots. That being said, I use supercropping to even out my canopy and increase overall yield. Its essentially the same as any other training technique. I do scrog and supercropping. I have some woody kush's that I didnt want to bother scrogging, and they are so short and bushy that all had to do was bend the stems and they grew like perfect flat clouds of nugs. I used to lst but its inferior to a scrog, and in some ways more of a pain in the ass. Now I just scrog and supercrop.

You can bend and snap the stems as much as you want, but each individual stem should heal before you snap it a again.
