Thanks for the props pumpkin :D Sorry I didn't send out party invites  I kinda been playin' it behind the scenes here with this operation because I wasn't sure if was gonna work... But it sure seems like its workin :D

Both tables cost 'bout 50 bux in lumber and 40 bux in pond liner..5 bucks in screws. Yup- >100 bucks for the both of 'em

Fifty or so bucks into PVC and a couple big rubbermaids and thats it. Thirty bucks in bulkheads. Total cost of the system was under $200 Unless you count the pump which was $130 :D

She hasn't proven herself yet, The lava rocks put a bump in the road too. I'm excited for next grow using hydroton...

All things considered, I have to admit. The low height profile, the low cost of construction, and the low amount of water required for a SOG grow of this size... Makes this system a real winner

pumpkin2006 I am no longer a member of this site, don't bother

I don't know if you've seen my grow, but I'm trying to accomplish what this system is doing, but in an overly complex way that was stupid, after reading about this system

Future tables will be just like yours. Good growing dude!

Hey man, its growin' great - I decided to start a journal for the project. Click the "My Attic" link in my signature.

 Good to see ya around!

/edit Just uploaded the same pics here as were in my journal -- for fun :D Systems working great!!!!! Better than I could have hoped. I currently like it as much or more than the buckets I built.

I'll take some pictures of the roots and post them here when I harvest, so we can see how well they did in spite of all that lava rock :bucket:

    Hey AB!

quick question im in the middle of building me a pond, and my question for you is what size holes did you drill for the drains?

I too am using 1" uniseals, but when i drill the 1" 3/4" hole the pond liner adds a extra layer and then the uniseal doesnt really fit.

did you have to drill a bigger hole?
did you cut the pond liner somehow?

details on how you did this would be awesome i dont want to cut my liner wrong.

Ahhh uniseals dont really work for going into pond-liner,, only for hard plastic...... You need bulkhead seals for making a connection into pond liner... 1" was used in the construction, but 3" would be better. You'd only need one..... you could modify a toilet gasket thingy from home depot to fit like a bulkhead seal...

si but thats why there is 1/2" of plywood under my pond liner.........the pond liner alone would never support any amount of water on its own. Plus AB has used these and they work great for him and I have a very very similar setup going on and would love to know how he did it since i already have those parts. If for some reason I cant make this work however ill turn to the plumbing dept thanks!

Its EPDM rubber made by FireStone - At 45 ml thick, its pretty resilliant to tearing. I also use it to line my growroom floors to catch any leaks. After a couple years of walking on it and dropping various tools, on it - i can vouch for its durability :D And if it does tear they sell repair/patching tape for it :D

I built a tray out of plywood 1x6''s and this stuff and it works great
