To follow up on TCB's thread. This Thread is worth reading from beginning to end.

I take 10 inch to a foot tall clones, something I have not seen many or any other people do. So a thread is in order I think. Here is how I do it, its overly simple.

Sterilize your tubs and use a sterile razor blade to take the clones. I use beer brewing sanitizer (Five Star) because it kills all bacteria and yeast. Bleach does the same but it kills your plants too, so stick with Five Star Star San.

    Step 1. Clean your tubs.

Put in your rockwool sheets that have been soaking in 5.6pH water. Use a pen cap to push larger holes into the rockwool slab where you want to clone. I do every other row (for airflow) so I can fit 56 clones per tub.

Cut your clones to size from your moms and then dip and plant. You are finished.

Large clones are easy to root.

I was originally told adamantly to use a clean razor blade as you do. But I see many people that successfully use scissors. Any opinions on the uses of scissors in this process?

Do you have to water them with a mild nutrient solution since your using rockwool ? Do you mist them with a spray bottle ? What kinda light are they under ? Do you keep the cover on all the time until there done , lift it a few times a day for air exchange, or keep it half on and half off? Theres alot of Q's you didnt answer in your thread that I need to know to be succesfull at this. I have a 120 site EZ-CLONER. I hate to set it up for a few cuttings.
So I want to do a few this way. Can you help? I use ROOTTECH - Cloning gel. What's that powder? Do you get mold on the tops of your rockwool cubes ?

Alone, as for the lid, notice how he has it cracked on one side? I think it was in his journal he mentioned rotating that gap to the other 3 sides. I dont remember the exact interval but, I want to say it was after a few hours.

I've never been able to get many plants to root successfully in hydroton, whether they're smaller or larger, rooting hormone or without, dome doesn't matter, misting doesn't matter and neither does temperature; they just don't root. I'm glad my aerocloners work very well. :D

    Yours look great!

Use a brand new razor blade each and every time. Never use scissors.

alone: Do you have to water them with a mild nutrient solution since your using rockwool? No Do you mist them with a spray bottle? No What kinda light are they under? Usually a 1000 watt HPS light, or under fluro racks. Do you keep the cover on all the time until there done, lift it a few times a day for air exchange, or keep it half on and half off? Just a crack at the beginning with a fanning every day to get fresh air in once a day while keeping humidity high enough for the clones. Correct, rotate the cloning tubs each day so every clone gets light and the crack of air is on the opposite side of the tub every day. I haven't said a lot more because this process is really that simple. Clone, and then every day or 2 fan them off and rotate.
