Need Help for first grow, Have pics in white light. So this is my grow, I think i've burned it with some nutrients, and it's deficent in some others. I am not supposed to be using nitrogen this late in the bloom cycle, im 4 and a half weeks in. So i am not sure about getting them to turn lush green again.

This is my first grow  I have 4 one thousand watt sodiums over a 16 square foot box. The room temp is low but I have so many lights i can't believe the plants are cold. Any info or incite to make my grow better and produce more wieght would be appreciated.

I have switched from using all kinds of bottles to just using one fertalizer that has everything I need. I need to fix the plants and then they will not be burned or mal nutritioned again. I dropped strings down 12 inches from the lights and am bending back any plants that approach the line so they won't get burned.

I have 30 plants in the box so crowding is an issue also. I got rooted clones in 1 gallon pots with fat root systems, so I was stoked on the startup. I was being greedy and tried to do 2 rounds of cuttings off them before budding out but ended up with 14 inch flowering plants in a 4 and a 1/2 foot tall room.

It's Cali Mist and I started budding on the 1st of March. Heres some pictures to see how Im doin.

You are way beyond massively over lit! one of those lights would have been more than enough. You're at 35,000 lumens per sq ft!!! There isn't even a word fo that.

I'm not trying to bust on ya here, but you bit off waaay to much for your first grow. That's the whole learning curve in a nut shell. Trying to figure your nutes out, Watering and feeding schedules, pH adjusting and on and on...

Even a first grow with a new set up, by an experienced grower, needs to be test ran before it's taken to an extreme.

Most of your questions are basic "grow guide" questions. The type of thing you needed to know before you started. It's kind of like a fishing reel with the line all twisted up. It's a little late to be learning the basics now.

Too many plants, too little room, too much light, too little nute experience. Plants are torched during flower (probably by both the lights and the nutes), temps are too low. The R/H is probably too low........... Are those plants seperated in the box so they can be removed without pulling them up? I hope so.

Wow...Really, I'm not trying to sound off. I feel bad for ya. But your in deep right now. It's like everything that can be wrong....IS. At this point, it's kinda like trying to turn around while running full speed down a muddy hill.

I don't even know what to say, except to thin the herd. Tie the ones you keep down. Flush them out well (if you even can). Center a light and use only one. (One 1000W HPS will give you 140,000 lumens and cover a little more than 18.5 sq. ft.) Get a space heater or two, and get your temps up to the low 70s at least. There's no perfect nute, until you know what to do with them. Spend a few nights reading your a** off, and see if you can save any.

You said you started flowering on "May" 1st??? Did you mean March???

Is your grow room oustside in the cold with no insulation? Four 1000W lights are only making that area 68 degrees? Good Luck

EXACTLY what Beener said......plus dude your in WAY over your head ..... what were you thinking? did you read the grow guide or did you do any real research at all before starting your grow..? like beener stated, i'm not trying to bust your balls or anything as i am also a novice grower myself but yeah :confuse: i have no words to your approach....

seriously follow beeners advice and you MIGHT be able to salvage your grow.

Hey man I am with those guys way to much light for that space one would have been more than enough.

Here is my girls in flower from a grow from last year & all looks well yes

Then the next day a vent fan failed & this happened & this was with on 600watt hps on a light mover so yep you have to many lamps man thin em out some just use one as already stated

Thin out your plants keeping the good ones & take off the burnt tops of the worst ones,You will just have to salvage what you can :D

    Hope this helps man.

I recentered 2 lights over it, and am flushing lol. It's ghetto but I was supposed to have an experieneced helper but he set me up with crap, ripped me off for 4000 bucks in clones and jetted, so all my money is tied up in this grow, and this is how he set me up. All those plants are just planted in the planter.

When you say thin the herd how many are you thinking I need to thin, half, a quarter, atleast the more sickly ones im guessing. If i thin the herd im ripping them out and there dead, so thats kinda depressing. It has no drainage either so how do you flush without drainage.

THe box's bottom is 2 inches red rock, then 3 inches perlite, and then the soil and plants. So if i flush it just sits in the bottom. [MOD Edit: Off topic removed] the next round which should be better, being as i know what not to do.

But thats for the future, once again all my cash is tied up in this, so it's sink or swim and im drowning. Should i recenter only 1 light in the middle instead of the 2 sideways, and where would one go about getting a heater with a thermostat on it?

Thanks again for your time helpin out :(

are you sure man?. FFS if so you were ripped off.

This sounds like you are leaning towards dealing here man which is a no-no around these parts I think you should read the posting Posting guidelines mate before a mod locks your thread & we will not be able to help you out :D

Is there any way to get under the box & grill some 10 mil holes in the box this will help with drainage?.

I'm not sure you have too much light...

But your grow is not very organized. You need to have each plant in a separate container. You need to read up on nutes. Dump the pH wand; it's worthless. If heat isn't an issue for you, then the lights should just give you fatter buds and more of them. (Look at Jamesgang's monster plants in the hyrdo forums; he uses massive lighting too).

Overall, for a first time grow with what looks like very little research, I think you are doing pretty good.

Don't try and get them "green again" as this won't happen. Finish off your grow, and then do your homework. You have the potential there, but you need direction.

    buzzmobile You rang?

The rocks in the bottom are what is contributing to your drainage problems. They create what is called a "perched water table". The difference in particle sizes between the rocks and your soil makes it physically impossible for the water to drain from the smaller soil particles into the larger rocks until the water holding capacity of the soil has been maxed out. By that time you have completely soggy soil before the water can even begin to move through the rock layer. A layer of rocks on the bottom seems to make sense for better drainage but the physical properties of water contradict that practice.

35,000 lumens per sq. ft. "is" too much light? Holy crap.

There's no CO2. Optimum for an Indica dom. strain is 7,500 lumens per sq ft. optimum for a Sativa dom strain is 9,000 lumens per sq. ft.

Now, I like to run over the optimum myself, but 35,000 lumens per sq. ft. ( or a total of 560,000 lumens over a 16 sq foot area) is like squashing a fly with a planet.

That much light will cover more than "74 sq ft" of optimum area for an Indica dom strain, and "62 sq ft" for a Sativa dom.

Dude is "definitely", "unquestionably", "without doubt", "beyond reasonably" over lit

Man, I had 2 1000W lights that I coudlnt run at the same time for mroe than the first half hour of light even with ventilated hoods and 5500 btu's of A/C. You sure you dont mean 68 C instead of F?

4000W is putting out about 15,000 BTU's even if you have cooled hoods. Thats enough to cook anything.
