So now when I start cloning and I want to have a Mother, do I just take a lady and stick her in the closet and leave light 18/6 or 24 and water and take clones ? How long will it last ?

    You decide

Theoretically she will last as long as there's someone to take care of her. I've heard of people having the same mother for several years. You can tailor her however you want, if you have just a small operation you can give her minimal light & nutrients to stay healthy; or veg her to encourage rapid growth for more cutting locations.

Keep it trimmed even if you throw some away to keep it healthy, small and fresh...18/6 is fine...;) ;) ;) ;)

yup.. Listen to DLA.. Ive had a mother for a year and a half so far.. I grow hydro but kept the mother in soil for many reason. 1 because its cheaper and easier to maintain... and 2 it will get root bound, which is what I want, so she dont get too big.. I trim my mum monthly to keep her small and encourage new growth.. Sad to throw them away.. but it keeps her healthy,,
    Happy mum'in!! :D
