  1. The nl has been thrown in the small ass cabinet for lack of vigor. But have kept 2 nice K2 girls. Here's a pic of one.

    Just a rookie..

It seems that most people have good germination rates from Nirvana (who provides the market with some very reasonable prices) so as a rookie i see no point to jacking up the dough to only risk losing it all. I see the cheap seeds as an advantage to the newbie growers out there (contrary to Oz) because the experience in growing the seeds to harvest (even if the harvest is minute) is a cheap one. I'd also like to relate back to the car analogy.. If you get a Ferrari as a first car, there's nothing to look forward to, besides driving OTHER cars. I figure if I start with the 1972 second hand Oldsmobile.. how could i possibly get worse with the next grow?

I see it as the market has nothing to look forward to if really good seeds were sold for cheap and everyone knew it.

Basic economics, like software, they have to make the kind that is worth less so the more reputable seed banks can charge a lot more and be justified. cuz their seeds are better than the rest.
If there was no rest there wouldn't be anyone to be better than and it would just seem average and would prolly sell for less.

And I failed out of high school Econ.

I know I have probably responded to this thread already, but I am about 1/2 way through flower with Nirvana Skunk #1, White Widow, and K2. I am very disappointed so far.

Ive read that the strongest factor of potency is genetics. I don't see why the f2's would be that much worse. Especially in my situation, outdoor grower and I'd rather go nirvana than use bag seed or to spend way too much to lose it all. But this year I just used bagseed, next year. Genetics.

    They are not worse.
    They are inconsistent.

This means you may get some shorter, some taller, some flower 8 weeks, some flower 12 weeks.
When you are doing an indoor grow all the plants need to be on the same schedule- you need consistency.

Crazy indoor growers and their need for consistency...if it were outdoors wouldnt you recomment Nirvana though? Especially with the chances of losing your crop completely.

There are many alternatives- most pricey breeders offer a "mystery pack" containing mixed seeds from their best varieties, but you won't know which is which.
I'd do that before I'd do Nirvana. JMO.

For instance Mr. Nice offers both "Dreamtime" (A selection of mixed indoor varieties of excellent parentage including Skunk, NL, Haze, and Afghan. Highly recommended for the first time grower or those that search for an economic solution to their problems) and "Walkabout" (A selection of mixed outdoor varieties with all genetics of supreme sources including Thai, Haze, India, early Skunks, Mexicans, and New Guinea.).

Each pack of seeds is only $20US.

So for $20 you are getting some of Mr. Nices best genetics??
    Such a deal!
I would take that over chancey genetics any day.

    I really wish...

I'd seen this thread BEFORE I ordered 4 packs of Nirvana strains through SD.

Oh well... I'm gonna place another order for "better" genetics, maybe thru another seed bank to test them agains SD.
