Protecting your work - watermarking.

    If you are concerned about plagiarism when posting your visual art...or even your budshots, watermarking may be the way to go. It's not perfect but may offer some piece of mind.

    A basic online watermarking application, free and user friendly: PicMarkr


    More customized watermarking may require an application like Photoshop. A Basic guide if you are not familiar:

    - Select your type tool, you can add a copyright symbol by holding [alt] and typing 0169.
    [IMG]

    Rasterize the type layer by right clicking the text layer and selecting 'Rasterize Layer'.
    [IMG]

    Adjust opacity to around 30%..whatever you want.
    [IMG]

    Edit>Flatten Image. Save.

    I dont get it. If you have some truly badass stuff, post it. If you copy other peoples stuff. DIAF. Watermarking doesn't solve shit. Watermarking will stop the average A-hole. But.....

    (remember the ripcord watermark?)

    The internet makes the world a small place. Why would you want to take credit for something you didnt do?

    I see GC doesnt host its own pics anymore. :/ I have lots of new stuff, but wont pay for hosting my own pics, especially stuff that teaches. Good luck.

    I kinda agree with ripcord....could care less if someone wants to steal my weed pics lmao. Would just make me feel better that my pictures are bad ass enough to steal. So i guess this thread at least shows me how to make some text less opaque!!!
