Hey, im a few weeks away from putting in my screen so im trying to do as much scrog research as i can. anyhow, couple of questions: When should i start training, before i set the light cycle to 12/12 or after? if i do train before i flower(and find out what sex they are) and the plants are trained into the screen nicely is it difficult to remove males?? Ive read that you shouldnt scrog from seed.... should i ignore this and do it anyway or should i wait till i get some clones happening next grow?thanks

    Not a great idea...

It would be pretty difficult to remove the males from the screen once they are in their nice. It would be best to do a scrog set up next time when you've got clones that you know you won't be removing. When that time comes you should train them into the screen before you turn back the light to 12/12.

Don't ignore the SCROG idea just because you're working from seed. It's worked out okay for me so far, and I was from seed.

I'd suggest putting the screen in and training as soon as you go 12/12. You'll have a week or so to train and wait for sex to show. Don't weave the plants but instead use twist-ties and the screen to bend the stems under the screen. When sex shows pull your males. From there on in just keep re-training the girls so that you maximize your usage of the screen.

I advise this because I did it the other way. I flowered and after determining sex I put in the screen. Well, to make a long story short, I broke one of my girls putting her under. She now stands waiting to make clones rather than making bud under my screen. The rest worked out okay, but it all would have been easier if they'd been training to the screen from the start.

Just be certain to not do the "over-under" weave technique and you'll find that the males aren't too hard to rip out.

Thanks ab, ive been keeping an eye on your grow in visual inspirations , seems to be going very well for ya. you should be ready to harvest in a couple of weeks shouldnt ya?
Anyway, i think I'll still go with the scrog, and as ab said start training as soon as i start 12/12 so ill be able to remove the boys before they get too tangled in there.
Another question: If i leave some foliage under the screen and harvest by carefully clipping the stem just under the screen, will i be able to re-veg the girls i use (for clones)
