Yes, this is the right thread indeed...

Now, I hate to see newbies get jumped on for not searching, especially since I still consider myself to be one but all the same...why didn't you just read the f*@%ing thread? It's not like the answer is buried somewhere deep in the library, it's right here, in this very thread--2nd post. It's the reason I started this thread in the first place. ;)

    Good growing. :Peace:

    Komet and Profound,

I don't know if either of you guys saw my Nursery thread on how I burned the sh*t out of my girls with the tea, but if you have a chance, please check it out. I'm curious to know your opinions. Whatever I did wrong in the brewing or application, I'd very much like to never do it again. Thanks. :D

I'm just throwing this out there b/c I know next to nothing about using teas...what was the temperature of the tea when you used it?..a couple reasons why I ask..depending on what the substrate temps are...watering with water that is too warm can shock the roots..and warmer water does have less oxy..I dunno?..just curious.

Would it help to aerate teas before using?..like to oxy saturate?

    Hey MNI,

The tea was probably about 80-85F--as I imagine was the root zone seeing how it's pretty fuggin' hot up in the attic. I was bubbling the tea on the back porch due to the funk factor. (I used an aquarium pump and airstone, so it was definitely well aerated.)

I never knew that about warmer water having less oxygen, though. Something to consider.

I know, I know... I'm an organic thread bump whore... sorry, but this is just too good to let sit at the bottom of the pile.

    bat guanos

so from what i have come to understand there are two different types of bat guano. Theres desert or mexican bat guano containing high levels of N with a ratio something like 8-4-1.

Then theres cave bat guano with much lower levels of N and high levels of P and K.

My question is when you were using your tea with the mexican guano (8-4-1) Were you using it during vegg or flower? I've got desert guano which would be comparable to mexican bat guano in NPK ratio, unless my short term memory is that badly messed up! Should I be using it on my flowering lady?

My understanding is that it wouldn't be very helpful to use something with so much nitrogen during flowering? I duno. Someone want to set me on the right path please :)

Also, is "fancy molasess" the same or that much different from black strap, that you wouldn't want to use it in replacement for black strap in your tea? By fancy I mean it says Crosby's fancy mollases on the bottle. Its a big brown bottle with a yellow cap. "Made from the pure juice ofthe sugar cane"
its got 1%sodium (which i dont believe is too bad.)
    3% Calcium
    6% Iron

In other words, would you use crosbys molasess in your brew? Is fancy and black strap the same thing?

another question, I've got plenty of honey, but not plenty of lady, good stuff or am i taking my chances?

If the desert guano is any good for flower then I'm thinkin about brewin a tea with just that and some molasess if the fancy kind isn't that much different from the black strap or maybe even the same thing? possibly some honey too but I doubt it. I'd like to keep it simple.

These are a few questions I've had floating in the back of my head for a long time that I've never gotten a definitive answer to. any respone is much appreciated. :)

    edit:
After reading a bit more of 3 lb's molasses encyclopedia.. I'm sure my molasess is gona due just fine but I'm still really unsure if my desert guano is the right guano for flowering.
I just mixed up some guano tea with 1 tsp molasess and only a tsp instead of a tbsp of guano just in case in a gallon of water.
Maybe I should have made a new thread? seemed like the right place to ask.. not that its been long at all since i posted.
I'll wait til morning, let it brew, and see what happens here.

my local hydro shop brews the tea, then puts it in litre jugs in the fridge for up to a week. i dont know if it would keep longer, but it always sells out before the weeks over.

molases is molases. your not using it for its nutes, but for its sugars. theres more than 2 types of guano. a lot more. im not shure if your desert gauno is for flowering. it should have a higher p and k and lower n for flowering. i mostly use jamican bat guano for flowering time. and up that dosage. organics can burn, but thats a little low. next time try a tablespoon of guano per gallon.
