The Banana Religion

Ahh Man , I was just starting to be a believer ~

I am ANTI-bananna I just dont like the idea of rotting fruit in my grow area im afraid of bugs and insects. If I want more females I plant extra seeds and cull out the extras.

I was talking about taking a set of cuttings before and after the Banana's, Wouldn't this tell you if the Banana's actually made any differance.

Well yall can scoff about Bananas. But it has given me 4 of 6 and 3 of 4 females, Coincidence, perhaps, But I can afford the fruit

Too Much Of A Good Thing

if its one thing i have learned with this growing stuff is that more is almost always bad. the same with bananas/ethylene. I had five bananas in my room during my last grow from day 14 of veg. to the day i switched to 12/12. It just about stunted growth completely but in the name of research i didnt take em out untill flowering began.

I ended up getting 16 out of 17 female. outstanding results but i pretty much didnt have a harvest from 16 plants. none were taller than 1.5 feet and most lost a lot of their fan leaves.

So be careful.
IMHO having A (as in ONE) banana in your room helps to get more females... but dont overdo it.

are you sure it was becasue of the banana's that it stunted your growth? what was your set-up? I mean...you can't just come in here and say you did end up getting a great ratio of fems but they didn't grow because of the banana's and not try to explain that you did everything else exactly how it needed to be. how are you so sure it was the banana's?

Well i've just had two nice looking soil plants both go male on me so now i'm down to my two hydro's left, so i'm really hoping to get a female, especially from the large plant which is Durban Poison from cann....seeds.com. I've added two bananas and will have my fingers crossed. Should i add more or is two ok??

DP is about 20days old
The small plant is from the one seed i popped out of a pound of some dank Juicy Fruit (so she says) and is about the same age, but was stunted due to high temps very early.
