    Hi all!

Random question, I was wondering if anyone had done or heard of further experimenting with flowering under 6.5/12 light timing? When I journaled my grow a few years ago I flowered with this method, but I have no idea where I got the concept from and can't find myself mentioning it anywhere in my journal. The search function isn't being cooperative either :p

so what do you do with the other 5.5 hours in the day?

or would it be 6.5 hours of light and 17.5 hours of dark?

I think he means that the light cycle is circular. Once the dark period is over, the lights come back on for 6.5 hours. This can get very tricky with a cheap timer, so you should probably get a digi, or a watch that has several alarms on it.....:afro:

Hahaha! Yeah I remember when I started the grow I had bought the cheapest light timer which just had little pins to push up or down for on and off.

When I realized it wouldnt work with what I wanted to do I had to go and by the 7-day programmable digi timer for $20. If I can ever find my projected lighting schedule again I'll post it up here for giggles, it was rather confusing hahaha.

    And yes, it is cyclical. 6.5 on/ 12 off/ 6.5 on/ 12 off....etc

Edit: Took a bit of backtracking, but I found the thread I got the idea from. http://www.gardenscure.com/420/theories-speculation/103013-will-shortening-light-period-12-12-a.html

I believe the conclusion was that you would end up harvesting sooner, but would get less dense buds and less yield. I don't think potency was affected though.

With the exception of a couple digis, all my timers are this kind. they work well, just not fancy.

    Stay thirsty my friends

I agree! It would have worked fine for me and it was initially what I had bought for my grow. The store had that one for $10 and the digi one for $20 I believe so obviously I wanted to use the cheaper of the two. However I needed a timer settable to the minute for this technique.
