will my cutting root?

I recently recieved a larger plant from a friend, I took a cutting from it to attempt cloning for the very first time.

what I did was take a cutting from the lower part of the plant, I cut it again underwater then dipped it in rooting powder. I trimmed all the leaves except the growth tip and the one other set. I stuck it in a *Jiffy pot* whatever cube and stuck a little dome around it. Its in with my vegging plants on a 20/4 cycle and is usually around 80 degrees.

I dont know what the cutting is supposed to look like or what its supposed to do but if someone wants to inform me I'd be happy.

Get that clone out of your grow room ASAP!!

For a clone to root, it needs only a scant amount of light. 1 flourescent bulb a foot away is more than enough, and it's been shown that too much light can significantly slow the rooting process. Stick it somewhere warm and someplace where it can have minimal lighting.

As for what they're supposed to look like, it shouldn't look wilted. If it's wilted, that means it's not getting any water, and that's a problem. Other than that, it should look like a cutting from a marijuana plant.

Oh, I guess I should of included this, but my growroom is only lit with floros. one 4 ft fixture and a few screw ins. its on a warm shelf about six inches away from my vertical floro.
