Ok so this is wat im going to do. I can afford to get a few more CFL's so im going to. Im trying for 4 per plant. And i will off set them so they are "on the top" but also out to the side a lil. Hope this works.....kinda wish i didnt "have" to have a cfl grow.

The next one is going to b a 400 watt hps, when the move happens

Sounds good, I think your next step should be a grow journal! I tried looking for one by you but came up empty handed. It will be helpful to you, trust me! Other growers trying to help you in a problem can look back through what you did and maybe see where things went wrong.

maybe ask a mod, see if your LST thread can be changed or just start fresh. Either way, you will benefit!

Ok yeaa man i think i will look into that. Yea i am totally new to "do this the right way" so a journal may b just wat i need. I love that its almost lik all you guys come into my closet and look at this first hand, its seriously sooo helpful.

    CFL spectrum choice

I am on my first grow so have little experience. But I vegged with 6500's and the switched to 2700's for flower. The plants seemed to "stall" for a couple weeks. The only other change was I went from veg nutes to flower nutes.

I plan to do the same thing you are suggesting with the lights on my next grow. A staggered change. I also plan to feed veg nutes for a couple weeks before switching. More reading I have been doing suggests the plant won't be so shocked.

As far as running 6500's during flower. Some have suggested it is a good thing. I was one 2700's short when I switched so I just used one 6500 (out of 12 bulbs). I am in week 10 of flower and can not see any difference from the buds near the 6500 as opposed to the ones near the 2700's.

Not a very scientific test but I don't think it helped.

I would suggest however that you read up on UVB lights as an addition. They sound pretty good.

I don't think (considering overall wattages) that there will be a huge "visual" difference between the 2700k buds and the 6500's. I do think you will feel a difference in the buds themselves however. The 6500 buds should be a bit tighter tho, and the nodal spacing should appear tighter. but again, we are not talking major watts/lumens...

I've never tried adding UVb, but IMO if your juggling the choice of UVb light or adding an additional CFL, I'd go with the CFL and save the UVb til after I knew what should happen with my plants.

Yeaa idk much about the UVb its kind of a neww thing out there. Im sticking to the CFL's and HID myself. But im going to give it a shot and have one or 2 6500k in there just to give a lil of that spectrum to her and then at lik the last 4 weeks of flower use nothing but 2700k.

Ill see how that works, but lik u said, it prolly isnt going to make much of a differance as compared to using a CFL or HID.

Well..... using UVb is not the same as using standard spectrum bulbs. The UVb works on a different level then say a 6500k bulb, and affects a different function of the plant.
Visually speaking, the difference between no added UVb and added UVb is going to be most apparent in crystal coverage (more with added) and possibly potency... but I've never tried them to see for myself..

Im just saying, at this stage lumens will do more for you overall then UVb. Increase your overall lumens into a good range, then add uvb and see how it goes.

Will a uvb bulb go right into a standard light fixture? rated at X amount of watts and Volts? Or does it have to be special like a HPS or MH ballast?

most of the ones I've seen that I would consider look like CFL bulbs and screw into a standard socket. Stop by a petsmart or other pet retail store and look in the reptile isle.

Duuuuude, i think i have one of those already. Dont they get like kinda fucking hot? Like actually really hot, and is it got a blue film or sumthin over it? I can use that to grow? Last time i tried it i just burned up the sprout lmao. Hense y im with cfl's actually.

How do u properlly use them? Are they good for veg or flower i dunno if i missed that.
